Meditation and Mindfulness five weeks course

meditation-copyAre you able to sit still and quiet your mind while connecting with your body? or is your mind like a busy monkey jumping from branch to branch, from through to thought?

Meditation means ‘a cessation of the thought process’

Meditation is not worship or prayer. Meditation means awareness. Whatever you do with awareness is meditation. Watching your breath or Pranayama is meditation; listening to the birds or talking a walk in nature can be meditation. As long as these activities are free from any other distraction to the mind, it is effective meditation.

The word meditation, is derived from two Latin words : meditari (to think, to dwell upon, to exercise the mind) and mederi (to heal).

This course will talk you through different techniques to quiet the body and mind to allow for meditation and mindfulness.

Each week you will learn a different technique which will include: body preparation and positioning; Pranayama (breathing); one pointedness; utilisation of mantras; visualisation and body scan.
