Dosha quiz

Ayurveda & yoga

What does your body
need right now?

Discover your dominant dosha and learn how to support yourself through the seasons.

Geny Caloisi, yoga teacher and Ayurveda practitioner

In Ayurveda, every person is understood as a unique combination of three biological energies, or doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These govern not just our physical tendencies, but our mental patterns, emotional responses, and the conditions in which we naturally thrive.

Knowing your dominant dosha helps you make more intelligent choices - about how you practice yoga, what you eat, how you manage stress, and how to support yourself through seasonal change. It explains why certain approaches work well for some people and not others, and why the same practice or diet can have very different effects depending on who is doing it.

Every person carries all three doshas, but usually one or two predominate. Answer each question based on your long-term tendencies across your lifetime, not how you feel right now. That distinction matters - it points to your constitution rather than a temporary imbalance.

Question 1 of 16

When balanced
Signs of excess

This questionnaire is a starting point, not a clinical diagnosis. For a more detailed constitutional assessment, I recommend the prakruti quiz at Banyan Botanicals.
