Fundraising yoga class for Chinbrook Meadows’s Tunnel mural
Chinbrook Meadows tunnel is set to get a facelift with a beautiful mural by the Lewisham School of Muralism (LSoM), and we can all be part of the transformation!
In order to collect money for the project, yoga teacher Geny Caloisi from CheYoga and Ayurveda Wellness is organising an outdoor yoga class in Chinbrook Meadows on Saturday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m. No previous experience is required, the yoga class is open to all.
Chinbrook Meadows is in the heart of SE London’s Grove Park. It is a beautiful expanse of land with the River Quaggy passing through it, baseball courts, outdoor gym, playground and lots of space to do yoga!
The tunnel has served us as shelter when we were surprised by some showers in the park and now it can be even better!
The LSoM is leading the project to paint a mural in the tunnel and it’s inviting the community to participate.
Having beautiful outdoor spaces enhances our lies and our environment. This gets only better when we can get involved in co-creating these spaces.
Get your ticket for the yoga class on Eventbrite.
You can make your donation directly to LSoM here: https://www.lsomuralism.org/involve-yourself
Every donation is welcomed, whether you make it or not to the yoga class.
The design process will run from the 7th of July and the painting of the tunnel will be for two weeks towards the end of September.
Local residents to take part in the design process! by taking part in a series of workshops that will take place on Zoom on Wednesdays (21.07.21/28.07.21/04.08.21) at 6pm-7.30pm and 7.30pm to 9pm.
If you would like to be involved, please get in touch! lsomcoordinator@gmail.com
The community design process will explore how best to celebrate the local farming history of cultivation and dairy, the adjacent River Quaggy, the impact of railways on local development including the influence of Edith Nesbitt, the children’s author whose work included the Railway Children and lived nearby.
To achieve this project we would need to raise £10,000, lets make it happen!
