Yoga Nidra Meditation – David Lloyd Sidcup
Yoga Nidra, often called “yogic sleep,” is a deeply relaxing, guided meditation practice that induces a state between wakefulness and sleep. It promotes deep rest and healing by bringing the body and mind into a state of conscious relaxation. Practitioners lie comfortably in Savasana (corpse pose) while a teacher or recording guides them through a series of stages, including:
- Body Scan: Awareness of different body parts to release physical tension.
- Breath Awareness: Focusing on natural breathing to calm the nervous system.
- Visualization: Using mental imagery to access deeper layers of the mind.
- Sankalpa (Intention): Setting a positive affirmation or personal intention for growth or healing.
Yoga Nidra effectively reduces stress, improves sleep, and enhances overall mental clarity. It’s a powerful tool for accessing deeper states of awareness and can feel as restorative as several hours of sleep.
This class is exclusively for David Lloyd members.
