Introduction to Ayurveda and special Yoga & Ayurveda package

The ancient science of Ayurveda has as much relevance today as it did to people of ancient India, where it originated at least 5,000 years ago. In the 21st century, we use Ayurvedic wisdom as a tool for balancing our lives—whether we want to have more energy, lose weight, improve our moods, or simply feel healthier. Ayurveda is based on the principles of living in harmony with the cycles and rhythms of nature. As you will see, its concept is natural and simple, yet highly effective.

This talk that I did for The Holistic Health Circle.

Ayurveda treats the whole individual not just symptoms of an illness.

A highly individualized approach to wellness, Ayurveda takes into account your unique constitutional makeup as well as how your health shifts according to the seasons and even at different times of the day When all the lifestyle and environmental elements are in balance as prescribed in Ayurveda, you will feel a vitality that can only be achieved through a healthy regimen that factors in food, rest, daily routines, and mind/body practices such as meditation and yoga Balance encompasses all parts of a person’s physical, emotional, and spiritual makeup It accounts for how we interact with our families, friends, and people we work with It’s truly a holistic approach to wellness.

Ayurveda & Yoga Therapy Package

With Geny Caloisi

Have you ever wanted your own personal Sadhana (a daily holistic practice), or need to know more about how to find a better balance in your diet, lifestyle, yoga practice or more? In these therapeutic and holistic sessions, I work with a variety of diagnostic tools to discover what imbalances you have (vikruiti) and help bring yourself back into balance (prakriti) with this time-tested and ancient way of using Ayurveda and Yoga practices.

Consultations may include assessments and guidance on:

  • detailed Ayurvedic consultation including tongue and pulse diagnosis, lifestyle and goals for healing
  • yoga practices to help balance your imbalances
  • pranayama specific for your needs (prana vayu)
  • meditations for your type of mental state (manas prakriti)
  • lifestyle recommendations
  • dietary recommendations
  • herb and supplement recommendations
  • mantra practices
  • recommendations for continued healing including referrals for Ayurvedic treatments, Reiki, Reflexology, etc. if needed.

Sadhana is a Sanskrit word meaning “spiritual exertion towards an intended goal.” It’s typically used to describe the things you do in your spiritual practice. However, knowing where you are out of balance and what can bring you back into balance may be difficult to discern with limited practice and knowledge of yoga. In the “old days” of yoga, students always worked with a teacher to not only have be guided in the path of sadhana, but also to check in with and be accountable to someone on a regular basis.
