Discover Your Inner Power

This is a transformative yoga class designed to help you tap into your inner power and unlock your true potential. In this session, we delve deep into the ancient practices of breathwork and mudras to cultivate a profound sense of awareness, balance, and strength.

Through a series of gentle yet invigorating yoga postures, I guide you on a journey of self-discovery. I encourage you to connect with your breath and harness its energy. As you synchronise your breath with movement, you will learn to release tension, increase flexibility, and enhance your overall well-being.

Kapalabhati Breath

Kapalabhati, often called the “skull-shining breath,” is a dynamic breathing technique used in yoga to cleanse the respiratory system. It invigorates the mind and awakens inner vitality. This breath involves forceful exhalations through the nose while keeping the inhalations passive.

How does it work? By rapidly contracting and expanding the abdominal muscles, Kapalabhati increases oxygen flow to the brain and stimulates the digestive organs.

Regular practice of Kapalabhati breath can help improve concentration, clear mental fog, and release built-up tension and stress. Practising Kapalabhati with awareness and sensitivity is essential to avoid strain, starting with shorter durations and gradually increasing as comfort allows.

Fire Mudra (Agnisara Mudra)

Fire Mudra, also known as Agnisara Mudra (a.k.a. Thumbs-Up), is a symbolic hand gesture representing the element of fire in the body. To perform Fire Mudra, bring your palms together in a prayer position with your fingers pointing upward, and then extend your thumbs upward, forming a thumbs-up gesture.

This mudra is believed to ignite the digestive fire (Agni) and stimulate the metabolism. By pressing the thumbs together, you connect the fire element and the Manipura chakra located at the solar plexus, which governs digestion, willpower, and self-confidence.

Engaging Fire Mudra during yoga practice or meditation can help increase energy levels, enhance digestion, and cultivate a sense of inner strength and determination. Remember to maintain a gentle but firm pressure with the thumbs and keep the rest of the fingers relaxed. Like any mudra, Fire Mudra is most effective when practised with intention, focus, and mindfulness.

It’s important to remember that, by incorporating the powerful practice of mudras or hand gestures, we explore how these symbolic movements can channel and direct energy within your body, promoting harmony and equilibrium. You will cultivate a sense of empowerment and inner peace by aligning your body, mind, and spirit.

Namaste. 🙏
