Playful Somatic Yoga practice
Somatic yoga practices might not use traditional yoga poses. Through subtle changes of the position of the body, I invite you to explore what’s possible in this class.
A somatic movement aims towards embodiment, finding out what range of movement we have, how do we feel in that movement or pose and what our own unique anatomy allows us to do.
Yoga is a somatic practice, however, we often don’t get a chance to really feel what is happening for us during a class. This is one of the reasons why self-practice is so important.
During a yoga class, I might indicate what are the target areas we are aiming towards but I cannot tell you what you will be feeling or experiencing within yourself. You need to observe and allow your inner guru to grow.
Make sure to bring a sense of curiosity and fun to this class.
