What is ‘Reconnect’ and what will you get out of it

‘Reconnect’ will be a full day of fun and learning in a beautiful seaside setting, in Westgate-on-Sea in Kent (near Margate).

Now that we are allowed to get together and practise Yoga, have a nice meal and share our knowledge I am wasting no time and I am organising a Yoga day retreat on Sunday, June 27th.

In 2020 we celebrated the changes of season with high octane Seasonal Yoga challenges. The first challenge was the Summer Solstice and we only had the chance to do it online. But we did it! and it was amazing!

We were able to achieve what we didn’t think was possible: 108 sun salutation in 90n minutes!

Each person did what they were able to, the number of sun salutations was the least important part, what was essential was the feeling of community and celebration!

This is what we are going to do at Reconnect!

Will you join me on June 27th?

We will start the day with a lovely Brunch at the Changing Minds Charity house. By having brunch at this beautiful house we will be helping the charity.

While we are enjoying a healthy breakfast I will share with you what Ayurveda is and what does this ancient science recommend to eat and do in the summer season in order to have a balanced and energised body and mind.

You will also learn about your unique body/mind type and how would things apply to you for the incoming summer season. 

At around 11:00 we’ll have a mindful walk to the beach where we will do a yoga warm-up in preparation for the Summer Solstice Challenge.

Summer Solstice challenge!! This will be 90 minutes and we will attempt to do 108 sun salutations.

A sun salutation is a sequence of yoga poses strung together like a chorography of consistent movementSome call it a Vinyasa flow.

In Sanskrit, Sun Salutations are referred to as “Surya Namaskar”. It’s a lovely way to greet the new day, but it can be practice thought out the day.

You will rejuvenate your body and mind by burning away what’s no longer needed doing the Summer Solstice Yoga challenge.

After the energy-filled Yoga Challenge, we’ll sit together to have a late, nutritious lunch of Kitchari and seasonal vegetables.

We’ll finish with meditation and experience sharing – and maybe even a bit of a dance!
