Autumn Equinox 2020 challenge workshops

We are transitioning into Autumn. You can feel it in your skin with the chillier air and winds; on the smell of fallen leaves and on the increasingly shorter days. It’s an exciting change and an ideal opportunity to learn how to conserve your energy. We are 100% influenced by seasonal changes. The effect of it can be good if we prepare ourselves but it will be very uncomfortable if we don’t.

According to Ayurveda, Autumn is a Vata season – dry, moving and brittle. If the terms Doshas; and Vata, Pitta and Kapha don’t mean much to you, you’ll learn more about the fascinating science of Ayurveda at these workshops and at the Seasonal Challenge event.

At the start of the Summer of 2020, we managed a super 108 Sun Salutations challenge for the Summer Solstice.

As the Autumn Equinox is all about finding balance when the days and nights are almost equal. We transition from the excitement of the summertime, into the inward-looking autumn and winter period, cultivating the seeds that will flourish in the spring.

We had two 45-minutes workshops, on September 9th and 16th which you can watch on Youtube.

Try these workshops to learn some of the yoga sequences that were being used at the Autumn Equinox challenge event, plus some tips from Ayurveda on how to prepare.

The Seasonal Balance – Autumn Equinox Challenge was a charity event on September 20th 2020 that rose more than £200 in total for two wonderful causes: ‘Save the Children’ and ‘Changing Minds Kent’.
